1. Interior design
Interior design
- What Is Design? Fields, Form and Function, and Design for Everyone – Design is planning something on purpose so that it does a job for people. It has many fields: product, graphic, fashion and textile, interior, landscape, architecture and digital (UX) design. Good design joins form (shape, colour, material) and function (the job it does): "form follows function". Designers use elements and principles, fit objects to the human body (ergonomics), and try to make things that work for everyone (inclusive design) and do less harm to the planet (sustainable design).
2. Decorative-applied art techniques

3. Modern clothing design
Modern clothing design
- Fashion Design Basics – Fashion design is planning clothes that look good, fit well, work for their purpose and sell. Every garment travels along a chain: fibre is spun into yarn, yarn is woven or knitted into fabric, fabric is cut and sewn into a garment, and the garment is sold in a shop or online. Fibres can be natural (cotton, wool, silk, linen) or synthetic (polyester, nylon), and each gives fabric different properties. Designers use elements of design (colour, line, shape or silhouette, texture) and principles of design (balance, proportion, emphasis, rhythm, harmony). The design process goes from research and a mood board to sketches, patterns, a sample, production and selling. Merchandising and marketing match the product to a target market using the 4 Ps: product, price, place and promotion. Today designers must also think about sustainability.
4. Beauty and health
Beauty and health
- The Chemistry of Cosmetics – A cosmetic is a product put on skin, hair, nails or teeth to clean, protect or change how they look. Most creams are emulsions: tiny oil drops held in water (or water in oil) by an emulsifier. Sunscreens absorb or reflect UV light: UVB burns the surface, UVA goes deeper and ages skin; SPF tells how much UVB is blocked. Antioxidants mop up free radicals. Using cosmetics responsibly means knowing your skin type, reading the ingredient list, patch testing and thinking about cost and the environment.
5. Cooking
Cooking
- Cooking Skills and Techniques – Good cooking is safe, skilful and smart. Keep food out of the danger zone (5–63 °C), cut pieces the same size, know how heat reaches food (conduction, convection, radiation), choose a moist or dry method, use seasonal ingredients, and scale a recipe and its cost for any number of people.
6. Landscape design

7. Basics of entrepreneurship
Basics of entrepreneurship
- From Ideas to Startups: Entrepreneurship – An entrepreneur turns an idea into a business by bringing together land, labour and capital and taking the risk. New ideas replace old ways, which economists call creative destruction. Startups grow with help from investors, banks, incubators, government schemes such as Startup India and Make in India, and small firms called MSMEs. A business plan maps the idea, costs and customers. The profit and loss statement shows Sales − Costs, and the balance sheet shows Assets = Liabilities + Capital.
8. Basics of automation and robotics
Basics of automation and robotics
- Robotics: How Robots Sense, Think and Act – A robot is a machine that senses the world, decides what to do with a program, and acts with motors. It has a body (structure), sensors, a controller, actuators, a transmission such as gears, and a power supply. Robots help in factories, hospitals, farms, homes and space.
9. Computer-aided design
Computer-aided design
- CAD Modelling: From a Sketch to a 3D Part – CAD (computer-aided design) means using a computer to draw and build exact models of objects before they are made. A design starts as a freehand sketch. In CAD it becomes a 2D sketch with constraints and dimensions. 3D tools such as extrude, revolve and cut turn the sketch into a solid. Each step is saved in a feature tree, so changing one size rebuilds the whole model. Parts are joined in assemblies, tested by simulation, shared as drawings and sent to 3D printers, laser cutters or CNC machines.
10. Technical drawing
Technical drawing
- Technical Drawing: Communicating Design Ideas – Technical drawing is a shared visual language for showing the exact shape and size of an object. Designers start with freehand sketches, then use pictorial views (isometric, oblique) to show the object in 3D, and orthographic projection (front, top and side views) with standard lines, dimensions in millimetres and a scale so that anyone can make it. Today most drawings are made with CAD software.
