• Intercultural Competence – Intercultural competence is the ability to understand, respect and communicate well with people whose culture is different from yours. Culture is like an iceberg: food, clothes and festivals are visible, but values, ideas about time and rules of politeness are hidden. Misunderstandings come from the hidden part. Good intercultural skills are: knowing about other cultures, keeping an open and curious attitude, and practising skills like careful listening, asking questions and holding back quick judgement. Learning a foreign language is one of the best bridges.
