Meaning of life and the question of God
- The Meaning of Life and the Question of God – People ask why they are here and what is worth living for. Media and culture offer quick answers such as likes, money and success. Religions, nature-based views and humanism give deeper ones. Luther said a person's god is whatever the heart clings to, a test that helps any person check what holds their life up.
2. The imperfect human
The imperfect human
- The Imperfect Human: Failure, Guilt and Grace – People are pressed to be perfect by ideals, influencers and ads, yet everyone fails and has limits. The Christian idea of grace says a person's worth is a gift, not a score. Justification, a key idea for Luther, means being accepted by God through grace and trust, not through deeds. Other traditions deal with forgiveness in their own ways.
