• अंतर-सांस्कृतिक दक्षता – अंतर-सांस्कृतिक दक्षता (intercultural competence) का मतलब है दूसरी संस्कृति के लोगों को समझना, उनका आदर करना और उनसे अच्छी तरह बात कर पाना। संस्कृति एक हिमशैल (iceberg) जैसी है: खाना, कपड़े, त्योहार ऊपर दिखते हैं, पर मूल्य, समय की सोच और विनम्रता के नियम नीचे छिपे रहते हैं। ग़लतफ़हमियाँ इसी छिपे हिस्से से आती हैं। इसके लिए तीन चीज़ें चाहिए: ज्ञान, खुला और जिज्ञासु रवैया, और सुनने-पूछने और जल्दी फ़ैसला न करने का कौशल। विदेशी भाषा सीखना सबसे अच्छा पुल है।
